I have a list of 2400 site URLs that I would like sorted into categories. It requires visiting each site - I don't think it can be automated. Basically it's a list of potential acquisitions and/or partners in a particular category. Some sites are clearly part of a large company (e.g., AOL) and not really appropriate. Others are included in the list but aren't really relevant (e.g., dating sites). And still others are relevant and not part of large companies, but probably too large to reasonably cut a deal with. I'll eventually need WHOIS data for the smaller set that I'd like to contact, so perhaps some automation with WHOIS is possible, but I really think at the end of the day someone will have to visit each and every site on the list and sort the list manually. I would also like a short description of each site (e.g., gaming, social network, celeb, etc.).
